Here is the scenario. I have a 79 F250 4x4 frame. I set a 351W in it, attached the 4r100 from a 97 f350. The problem is the T-case is too big to fit. I would have to cut clear through the bottom of the frame. I hate to compromise the frame to this extent. Is there another T-case that would work? I also have a couple of nv4500's, but advance doesn't have an adapter.
I probably could have clocked it one bolt hole, but decided to drop the 4r100 in favor of a NV4500 since I had some of those. I ordered an adapter kit from Advanced Adapters. It should be here today. With this trans I can use the BW4401 which is narrow enough to fit. I can also run naturally aspirated(no computer) this way. Anyone need a 4R100 and T-case?
not naturally aspirated, you mean carb instead of injection. carb and injection are both naturally aspirated. a turbo or super charger would be forced induction, the opposite of natural aspiration. just thought i would set you straight on that.
hmm 4r100 and that stupid duty case with teh megalow range? Is that a chain driven case?
I originally went with the sterling because I had plans of someday swapping an EFI 460 and e4od into teh Bronco. (VSS) Mud bogging rednecks from the southern states decided to build me a neck snapping carbed fo'sexay instead. 4spd w/overdrive would still be perty cool though and stronger than my slipping c6.
er nevermind it's out of a '97 that's the chain driven BW case. I thought 4r100's started with teh stupid duty?
