I'm planning on getting this brush guard from Jeff's - Grill Brush Guard, Chrome and adding some KC Daylighter lights to it. It comes with two light tabs, but I'd like to run four lights, two long range and two driving lamps.
Of course I don't have any measurements right now, so I don't know if four 6" round lights would fit or look decent inside this guard. If it would, I'd just take a bit of flat iron between the two tabs and mount to that.
Of course we're doing this to the 77, so I'm keeping everything round. I don't care for the roll bar/headache racks for this pickup. I've seen the Shelby Dent (sorry, can't remeber his name) and I don't want to cut into the grill inserts. Not going pre-runner, either.
Does anyone have pics or suggestions on a light/guard setup to fit my narrow criteria?! Anything anyone has fabbed up in the past? I searched through the old posts and didn't really see too much.

Since the guard mounts to the bumper bolts and your frame is roughly 34" wide (I think). I would say that four should fit across.
Four will fit (four 6-inch diameter lights). An unanswerable question is whether the stock light tabs are spaced correctly.
Otherwise the cross bar will have six holes.... four for the lights themselves plus two holes to mount the bar to the stock light tabs. If not, then the four lights may not be evenly spaced.

Hmmmm....
Good point. That's what I figured he would have to do anyhow.
Thanks, guys. I didn't even think of the distance between the mounting bolts. We'll just have to see where the tabs fall, and rig up a piece across the back. Prolly angle instead of flat bar, don't want saggy headlights!!! Should be pretty OK when it's done!
Here's another niffty idea - I was planning on tying into the high beam dimmer swich on the floor. What do y'all think of
A) a pair of lights (driving) to the dimmer, a second dimmer above it to control the second pair (long range).
B) All four lights on a second second floor switch mounted above?
C)Screw it, all on the stock dimmer switch, if I have to dim the headlights, all others should go off, too. I can't think of a reason too much light would be bad, except for fog. If it's foggy, I'll run the fogs lights in the bumper that's on the list, nailed to the money tree.
The push bar was a POS when I got it but I couldn't beat the $20 asking price and the Eagle 6 x9s were $15 for the pair! It's bolted to the outside of the frame with Grade 8 hardware. Last weekend at the 'yard I pieced together (from two Volvos and a BMW)
one pair of set of Bosch fog lights that will mount under the lower tube.
That's a good idea about the second dimmer.
>>>> Add... The "Smart" license plate frame? Its' from one of those tiny cars. 'got that from a co-worker cuz I think environmentalists are bunch of hypocrites.

I'm diggin'...thanks for the pics. Way to go on the cheap, too!
On the second floor dimmer, I think I'll tie all the aux lights to it. I don't want to jack up the dash with switches, and I always break off the ones that screw underneath. Figured the floor switch would be the best looking.
You're welcome. Pics are worth a thousand words. Btw, our old Fords came with a rubber cap on the dimmer. Around $5 for a nice detail.
Before I got the push bar, I considered adding another set of headlights to the grill. I mean, two more headlight buckets could bolt onto the core support and the inserts are relatively easy to modify.
I've been asking around to see if anyone has one of the boots, hoping to come across one - two now. I'll probably end up ordering it from JBG - I think I've seen them there - when I order the guard.
As for lights, I'm going with KC Daylights. I figure they're old school enough and the long range lights are 130 watts, the driving lights are 100 watts. I want a night light! Combined it should be well over 1 million candlepower.
I've seen the Shelby Dent (sorry, can't remeber his name) and I don't want to cut into the grill inserts.
That's me, but no problem. It's all good.

The only thing I can seriously add here is that I would recommend you get stainless so they never pit or rust. My buddy Richard went through two sets of chromed steel lights in two years before he got wise. He's had his current set of stainless lights on his truck for four years now and no problems. They still look new.
On the fun side, have you thought about the lights set within a bumper, like on some of the old International Paystar 5000s? I think that would be super tough looking on our trucks!
An remember the high beams for these trucks are on the floor to. What bout putting the switch on the lower part of the dash.
Thanks, Kalve...posts #6 and 8 above.

My apologies, I was being lazy!

Stainless for sure, happy to spend a few dollars more to make sure the money invested in a good set of lights isn't wasted.

I'm doing something similar to #49-9571. I have a set of spotless original '69 Plymouth backup lights that I am setting into a stock front bumper, then putting on the rear. The lenses are louvered glass and have a large stainless ring that fastens on to the outside of the bumper with stainless screws. With the bumper painted that cast iron metallic gray, it should look awesome. I'll be re-using the original license plate lights, but I may have to modify them to work with the plate in a different position.
Keep us updated on what you choose and what it looks like when you are done!
