PLEASE, tell me i can use this gauge in my 78 F-150! It says something about a fuel level sender? Is that fancy talk for a sending unit? I JUST put a brand new sending unit in my gas tank...
It will work if the gauge and the sending unit are mated together. If not then it might work or it could be off a little or a lot. You shouldn't mix and match sending units and fuel gauges.
But yes the fancy word fuel level is your gas gauge. Are both from Sunpro?
That gauge says it operates on 240 ohms empty, 33 ohms full but I believe that all 73-79 FORD gauges operate at 10 ohm full, 70 ohm empty. You could try it but if it doesent work they probably have the right ohms in one of their other gauges of the same size and look. Good luck though.

Reason: spelling
Sunpro should have a sending unit that matches their gauge. You will have to take the guts of that sending unit and have it welded to the Ford pickup tube. You will need to play around with the level to get it to work right. It is truly a PITA, but I had to go through it when I iunstalled custom gauges in my truck.
If you pm me with an email address, I can forward you directions I received that give instructions as to how to do this. I tried posting the document, but for what ever reason, I can't get it to transfer.
No no no, thats quite alright. I think im gonna use the original ford gauge, but put the sunpro face on it, or something similar to that. Dont worry ill frankenstein something together!
