Smog test in AZ

I went monday to get a smog test in Phoenix to register my truck and I was pleasantly surprised. I was sitting in line and realized I forgot to hide my dp tuner, put a stock airbox in, and restore my ccv mod. I live in Cali so the smog ***** here dont want ANY changes to stock. Well the guy walks over and tells me about the tet proceedure and glances at my tuner sitting on the gauge pod and I thought I was had. He didnt care and told me to pop the hood and checks out the bay. Then he sez ok we are starting the test. So 3 mashes of the pedal later and I have my pass certificate in hand, nevermind the modded intake, ccv, dp tuner, and welded straight pipe exhaust lol. I LOVE AZ! Oh and what about getting Az title, tags, and plate on the spot at a third party station after handing them my Cali title and $106 vs $354 in Ca due to all the BS fees (for a 10yr old vehicle?!?!?!)

Why cant Cali realize that it's emssions we are trying to control? If my moded truck passes all there emission requirements who gives a $#%^ what I have done to the vehicle!!!!!!!!

Because, as I've said all along when I bi**h about California Air Resource Board, it's about the money. Sure, I'm sure the engine that drives that money wagon is care for the air and environment, but it's the money they want. Licensing regulation for items that have CARB certs, as well as government control over the population.

Liberals. More big government and taxation to fund all of their social entitlement programs.

I'm moving to Texas....

Ah, California. The land of fruits and nuts. And most of them work for the state.

Or have no job at all. This isn't eggsactly a business-friendly climate out here.

BTW, modded intakes OK here, just no CCV mods.

Crapola in Mn is revenue enhancement in California.
We are so politically correct in the Golden State.

Gimme a break! The enviro-*****, your DNR, has basically stolen all property rights from your citizenry.

He||, you can't even take along your own firewood when you go camping up there. It's against the law! You actually have to buy it from a DNR-approved vendor. Can you say "revenue"?

They claim it's to prevent the movement of pests. Can you say pests? We know who the pests are....

They have that state so bound up that it's hardly worth visiting any more.

That's not true as far as I know. "Some" campgrounds throw that around but it is not required everywhere.

Not saying we don't have our own issues but I will take my states issues over yours any day of the week Pop

I guess in like the live free or die state..96 and newer gets plugged into a computer and checked for resent codes + a safety check..no throttle punching at all...diesel's or anything over 8,000 GVW is just safety checks..if it passes you get a sticker for 50 bucks..

The leadership philosophy of both of our states is very similar, and will likely lead to the same place someday. So far, we're the bigger losers, but someday....

Guys the bad thing about living in Texas is, you don't get to pay state income tax. In most counties we don't have smog test, just safety inspection. Come on down and enjoy the heat.

We Californians must be the luckiest folks on the planet. We get to pay all that and have the worst roads in the country.
