I bought my expedition used, and I am curious as to what goes in these two locations. I tried to copy a picture but it didn't work so here I go. The first is to the left of the steering wheel and is an oval sitting vertical about 1 inch long. The second is a 3 inch oval sitting horizontal on the right side of the steering wheel and has three "seperations in it"
I found out that the wiring is to them is present, (after a nightmare figuring out how the dash panel comes off) but would like to know what actually they do so I can find out how much it would be to put them back in. Thanks.
so in theory, If I purchase the switch it should be as easy as plugging it in and it would work? (at least for the the trip computer) i imagine that the pedal thing needs some sort of motor on the pedal?

Only if your truck was originally equipped with them. They are optional equipment and the rest of the parts needed are not in the truck.
Don't even think about retrofitting these items. If you have to have them, get a truck that has them.
