'04 Expedition Tailgate Paint Issue
I have a 2004 Expedition (purchased in March of 2005).
I have taken it into the dealership (prior to owning the vehicle for 5 years but after the 3 year/36K was up) to have the paint looked at.
The paint is bubbling off of the tailgate (from what I have read, it is caused by metal contamination of the aluminum tailgate panel).

I have some documentation from Ford that identifies this issue and instructs the shop techs on how to fix/repaint to keep it from happening again.
I have seen this on several other 04 Expys on the road. Has anyone gotten this fixed by the dealer in the Chicago area? Did it cost you anything (if so how much)?
Any suggestion or guidance is sincerely appreciated,

same thing on my 03, and pretty much every 03-06. ford will only cover it under the base 3/36 warranty. i have contacted some bodyshops in my area to qoute a repair, and they all were around $1k. thanks, but no thanks, i'll live with it!!
