so i put these wheels and tires on tonight. ($550 for all 5 35 12.5 16.5 bfgmt's) It just doesn't look right. I read a few threads on the topic, specifically from pcguy760. You can see from the type of lugs I have, there's no telling how much of the lug is actually on there, but with only 3 or 4 threads showing with the wheel on, it doesn't seem right. The back wheels had more showing though (stud pics are front wheels), 5 or 6. I've learned over the past few weeks that the PO did ALOT of shade tree stuff to this truck; could it have been a drw converted for whatever reason to srw? so the front wheels are offset? the rear wheels don't stick out past the wheel wells at all while the fronts are about an inch past. any thoughts?
its because your trying to use the wrong lug nuts. you need ones that slip inside of the rim and go around the stud. its a smooth shaft that goes inside with a head on just the last inch or so of it.
any tire shop will have them. you can get them at some auto parts places, but its gonna be hard to find. tire shop is your best bet. oh, be ready cause they are usually atleast $1.50 each.
also IIRC the front wheels will stick out a hair further than the rear that way the rear wheel are not traveling in the same path as the fronts, this really comes into play when in snow. but then i could be wrong so dont quote me lol

The fronts of these trucks have wider track than the rear axles, if you think yours is bad look at a late-'90s 3/4-ton or 1-ton Chevy 4x4 Also if your truck was ever a dually and the front axle was unaltered in any way then your entire front wheels would be sticking out the fenders, lol
ordered the right lug nuts today, they'll take until thursday to get here. not sure whether the wheels are dodge wheels. i just like em because they're 16.5", hmmwv tires are cheap. sometimes even cheaper for those in the military
so yeah, the truck's now got some more realistic "fun" potential, now if i could go back in time and mark the upper timing gear... (see "starting off right"). thanks again for the help here, eventually i'll contribute to the forum instead of just absorb.
