no they arent hummer wheels. they are after market wheels. he just said hummer because the military surplus tires they sell. cheap as hell and usually are 90+ % tread life on them.
i don't think they were ever on a hmmwv, they do kinda look like the H2 wheels. they slid over the hubs with ease, i think i am just using the wrong lug nuts, they were the ones on the truck when I got it. I actually ran into the same thing when I owned a trooper, shoulda known better.
Mag wheel and aluminum wheels all take the nut like the picture above.
I just noticed thay looked like a set of Hummer wheels someone wanted to sell me a couple years ago.
I also have seen wheels get bent when the center hole is not big enough for that small shoulder on the hub to slide into it.
Seems like one of three things happen in that case.
The wheel is not back against the hub correctly and the wheel comes loose/vibrates horribly.
The wheel gets bent when tighting the lug nuts.
Or the wheel becomes almost impossible to get off because the center was forced down on the hub shoulder that was slightly to big to fit.
Better safe than sorry.
Since the lugs fit, just make sure the wheel will go against the hub easily by hand before you tighten lug nuts on new used wheels.
