Unhappy Need help - 2008 explorer differentials lockers

Hi every one

I Want to install something to increase the traction, either a diff lock or (ARB AirLocker or Eaton ELocker) or a Helic LSD (Eaton Detroit TrueTrac) in both front and rare

Eaton Application Guide
http://www.eaton.com/ecm/groups/publ.../ct_128302.pdf

ARB AirLocker Application Guide
http://www.arb.com.au/resources/pdf/...tion_chart.pdf

I don't know what Differentials do I Have

I think I have 5R55S GearBox With Axle Code 45 (3.55 open)

I think the rare deffirential is ford 8.8 with spline 31 and ratio 3.55

and I don't know what is the front differential???

My VIN#1FMEU73E98UA38143

In the tag plate on the rare differential cover I found this:

V604N 88
355 7K09

So any one can tell me what differential do I have?

what should I install as lockers (with part number please)?

best regards

the axle code on the drivers door should be "45". the 355 on the rear end means 3.55 , since there is no "L" it is not limit slip.. the door code would be D5 if you have limit slip.
I dont know about putting a locker in an explorer. The EXP computer monitors the slip at each wheel and engages them when needed to eliminate slip... you might screw it up by trying to install a locker... GUess i dont understand why you would need a locker, the factory setup works pretty good... the LS unit in the rear would help.. if yo uinsist, i would put some type of traction device in the rear.. but not the front end. Let the computer control that.

Code Ratio
41 3.27C
42 4.10C
43 3.08C
45 3.55C
46 3.73C
D1 3.27L
D2 4.10L
D4 3.73L
D5 3.55L

355 7K09; shows the gear ratio that your truck has from the factory and Ford does not install a locker of any type in the front axle of their 4WD or AWD trucks because of the excessive strain on the front end as well as the difficulty in maintaining control when turning, especially at speed. Quite a lot of people that use their trucks off road a lot have installed all kinds of lockers in the front with the Air locker being the most controllable when steering a tight turn on pavement as I believe you can disengage the locker for pavement use. The guys and girls that play only off road, in the desert, in the mud and also rock climbing seem to like a unit that is locked full time, the name escapes me at the moment, it is very inexpensive and almost never breaks.

The aim of installing of a lockers is to aid the AdvaceTrac system in a similar war that Ford Motor Company did when they installed LSD differentials to some model

What I'm looking for is a part time lockers, so I'll have a smooth ride on-rod specially on turns with great traction off-rod

there for I think Eaton Detroit TrureTrac would be a great choice because of the way it operates. it would be a grate integration to AdvancedTrac

now I know That I have 5R55S gearbox with a a Dana 30 Super/186 IFS 3.55 ratio differential in front and ford Dana 8.8 IRS 3.55 ratio differential in rare

What do I need to know now is what are the parts numbers of Eaton Detroit TrureTrac that I need for my application:

i would think the dealer would know it part number, if you tell them what axle you have... again, i would not recommend putting one in the front.
