U-Haul has an adapter that is easy to install and arrives within 3-4 days of ordering.

U-Haul moving supplies: Receiver Adapter - 2-1/2" To 2"

yes.. and thru google you can find Uhaul, Amazon, etrailer, and at least 6 other places on the first page selling the adapter.

but if he didn't want to get it online, I was providing another way.

Problem 1:It has the 2.5" receiver. The dealership did not give me a reducer sleeve so I can’t pull with it. I have called about 10 auto parts stores and various truck dealers and nobody has one in stock.<O></O>
Problem 2: It came with this built in gooseneck rail system. After hearing the first to market and partnership hype with the hitch company I can say I am really disappointed that it is an incomplete unit.

Anyone else having these problems? Are you disappointed or upset like me?

Kind of seems that it is getting harder to get what you want in the vehicle easily.
I got to take out the unusable rails, so I can put a B&W in it, why Ford choose Cequent is beyond me. They must not pay too much attention to what the consumer actually wants. Now I have to go find a reducer sleeve or a 2.5” receiver which are not readily available in rural communities.

I made my reducer and it only took me about 15 min to do so. Yeah I had to grind out the seam inside but big deal. Got a dremel or an air die grinder, works like a charm??

Another option, take out your 2.5" hitch and work a trade with one of the owners of an early build unit with the 2". I bet you wont have much trouble finding someone to trade!

As far as the complaint about the gooseneck set up I dont see a problem. You paid about $370 for whats under the truck so why take it out and buy something else, your just buying it twice? Go to the Ford dealer and get the ball, drop it in and go. I got mine from a Ford dealer for $225. Most dont keep them in stock but can have you one in a couple days. I ordered from e-trailer earlier this month but they were on back order. When I called to cancel they told me that they had just arrived and were ready to ship (This was 3 days ago or so), I had already got one from Ford by then.

If you want a vehicle exactly the way you want it, do many hours of research and order it. Thats as close as you can get!!

If those were the only complaints about the truck then sounds like a home run for Ford!!!

Need an adapter? Go test drive an '11 GMC Sierra Duramax, adapter is in glove box. Comes with the truck. Come on Ford, you can't supply an adapter??

Nope, it won't fit in the glove box.

Details, details. Maybe it was in the center console. Point is, it came with the truck.

Oh man, Ford should be worried about loss of sales because GMC provides the adapter. I mean that would have been a tough thing for me to pass up. As if passing up Dodge's heated steering wheel wasn't hard enough. I'm so glad I bought the Ford when I did because if I had waited long enough for the new GMCs to come out with the "free" adapter it might have been something to really consider the GMC over the Ford.
Alright so I'm being kind of wise here but Ford isn't suppling a number of little and not so little things I want/need for my truck.

The reducer comes with the truck at no charge. Most Dealerships take them out of the receiver so they do not get stolen while sitting on the lot. Ask the Sales Manager or ask the mechanic where it is. Do not let them charge you for it.

Wow, now that I re-read my post I guess I was being a knucke head. Leave comedy to the comedians. My appologies.

Anyway, I've had to pay for it. The reducer I bought from the RV dealership didn't work and was pounded enough to not look any way close to returnable. So that's $25 down the tubes. On the other had, the Ford reducer came in today and it slides in with no effort. I do need to get a longer pin.
