the truck had the curent exaust ran on it when i bought it so i have nothing to compare as far as cat or no cat, but my ranger i gutted the cat and it had a ton more pick up.
and you think 14 is tough? try 10-12 on a 16 year old budget
im hopeing to get a constant 12 when i put my headers o, and maybe a better bost when i get a k&n filter
geez 10-12? i guess i should be lucky then lol. im going to atleast try for a solid 16. if nothing better i guess ill go for better throttle response and hopefully that will help becuase im not getting on it as hard to get up to speed.
Do an advanced search for exhaust or muffler etc. There are a ton of threads about it. Your truck should run just fine with out cats, but may fail sniffer test if you ever have to do that. Whatever muffler you choose, please pick something besides Blowmaster.
the only flowmaster ive heard i like are the 40's and 50's the 50's, to me sound better on newer trucks, the 40's sound better on older trucks, but thats just me.
i think i may look into gettin some cherry bombs for mine, or just some straight up glasspacks

yea but that 10-12 is mainly cause i bog it when i can, and im turning my 31's with 3:55's, and towing hay equipment when needed, also i love gettin on it when people aint lookin and i make'em jump
it seemed to me like glasspacks have always been looked down upon for some reason? maybe cherry bombs instead? ive never really heard much about anything other than flowmasters.
cherry bombs on a 5.0 sound amazing! and as for glasspacks around here, evveryone has'em or wants'em just cause everyone wants to be the loudest person in the parkin lot
My intent with this thread was to just throw your vids, specs, pics and exhaust info into one thread and try to keep the chatter to a minimum.. but oh well.. I should have made that more clear, and I didn't know how well this would fly anyway.

That always happens.
Just look at the "what have you do to your truck today" and the "show off your pre 97 trucks" threads.
hey bayer do a search for my thread. i had about two pages of people telling me what kind of exhaust setups they had. didnt have alot of chatter either.
On my 1997 F350 4x4 460 5 speed, I bought it with the cat being removed, and having the 2 pipes coming off the manifolds right into a backwards wrapped-style muffler and 3" pipe all the way back. I just replaced the muffler with a Hooker Aerochamber and it sounds amazing everytime I'm shifting gears. Sounds a lot like a mild 5 liter Mustang, with that touch of drone between 1700-1900 rpm, a nice idle, and a throaty tone under hard acceleration. Roll the windows up, and it quiets right down. Just right, and not obnoxious. Added a bit of torque and throttle response, too.
There are different kinds of glasspacks. With cats the shorter 12-18 inch ones sound good. Without cats the longer 18-24 or so sound good. So, it depends on your setup.
I also like Magnaflow and Dynomax. These usually sound the best with out cats though. With cats they are usually pretty quiet. With a smaller high flow cat they sound great too.
