Ok, so I'm going to start off with a question...should I have gotten my truck retuned after I had an EGR delete done? I didn't think I did, but now I'm not sure. The reason I ask is because last week I just had an EGR delete done, they changed out my ICP sensor and connector, and they upgraded my turbo drain tube. Before that, my truck ran awesome with my 150hp custom tune. But since I've gotten back, I've only gotten on the throttle a few times but when I have I've noticed it have a little popping/fart sound too it and some bucking, but thought maybe it was something with the way I may have done the pedal. Then tonight, I was going along about 35mph then just laid it to the floor. When I did, the exhaust made a decently loud pop/fart noise (kinda like the pop it'll always do with straight pipes, just a little less normal sounding). After that the speedometer cruised on up just fine like it should, but somewhere between 60-70mph it upshifts (i guess to 4th) and it starts bucking like crazy like the fuel is being cut on and off, and it wouldn't go any faster. It'll go faster than that if ease into the throttle like normal, but at WOT it starts bucking around that area. What could this be? I got my tuner and tunes from a local shop here that does great work, and if it's the tune then he'll fix it for me for free (i got lifetime custom tunes when I bought the program from him). I just want to know that it could possibly be the programmer so he's not like "you idiot, why did you bring this problem to me...it's got nothing to do with my tunes." If it could be a problem with the other shops work with the EGR delete then I'll fall back on them and get them to check back up on it. Any ideas as to what it could be?
Another thing real quick...I don't know if it's my imagination (since all this has happened I've been kinda pessimistic and biased about how well the truck has been running tuned after my EGR delete), but it doesn't seem to have the "get-up-and-go" that it did before I had the EGR delete done. Not sure if it's true, or if it's my imagination, i'm just trying to help with my prognosis. Thanks in advance for any help.
It sounds to Me like an injector issue. I wonder if it i s just coincidence? BTW i;m up the road in Simpsonville these days.
Ok, I'm down in Anderson so we're not more than 30 min. apart. When you say these days, you mean for a short while or what? But I thought I had some injector issues because my truck was having some super rough start issues in high 20 degree weather if I didn't plug up. The guy at the Ford place told me that if I updated my strategy to the latest then it would probably fix it, so I'm going to try that first.

I'll check it first thing in the morning. I wrote down my old strategy, so since I've got you here, tell me if this sounds like a super old strategy: VXAM7A4. Also, can two trucks have the same strategy and be tuned off the same X3?
But to be honest guys, I don't think my strategy has been updated since the day it rolled out of the factory. So it's probably time for an upgrade.
Soryy I dont follow the strat numbers that close.
so far as tuning more then one truck with an x-cal no you can not.
I would think about if I wanted to reflash an 03 with a stock file in it, Man they ran good.
I would also think it will tuen out to be an injector.
I'll have to check with the dealer tomorrow and give them my strategy and see if they can see when it was released. It may not be the stock I don't know. And yes it does run good once it's warm, but it has NO power in the winter until it gets good and warm, and the transmission shifts SUPER ROUGH...to the point that it jerks the **** out of you when it shifts. Every issue that I'm having with my truck are all issues that are supposedly addressed and fixed in the upgraded flash...so we'll see. Everybody that I've heard with similar issues say they love the upgraded flash.
But if it were to be injectors issues, can Ford find that out even if the CE light isn't on?
And as to the X3, if I can't tune multiple trucks, can I at least read other vehicles DTCs and strategies and what not?
