Back in May I took my 2000 EX in for alignment rotation and balance. The alignment turned out ok except the steering wheel was cocked to the left. The tires were still out of balance and shaking at 65 and up so I finally took it back a few days ago. Oh by the way they replaced the passenger side ball joints before the first alignment. It has been there twice since and now it is pulling to the left / driver side under acceleration after two other alignments. The tech told me that it may be like this because the ball joints need to be broke in. I am taking it back again today because this sound like BS to me. I have replaced everything on the front end in the last year so I know it is not a suspension or part issue. Also it just stared doing this after the last 2 alignments. Has anyone had any similar issues with this?
Klunking front suspension and tire roar while cornering so I changed the upper and lower ball joints and control arm bushings on both sides. Also rotated tires.
First road trip out it was a beast to keep on the road. (Horrible)
Took it back in and had tires balanced and rotated back to original their positions. Things seemed better but still some tire roar on cornering that I thought was just due to prior tire wear.
Couple of weeks later the klunking started again but even worse as well as tire roar when cornering. Looked underneath and one of the end link bushings had mushroomed. Close inspection revealed that the inside was toast long before the exterior of the bushing showed a failure.
I replaced the end links and bushings and now it's no hands at 76 and no more cornering noise.
You mentioned that all parts were changed. Did that include new sway bar end link bushings? If your vehicle has a torsion bar suspension that is..
we had a alignment...and a tire rotation....went back 2 times because the X steered worse than b4 the alignment...i was super unhappy with the attitude and service after going there for 5 years....finally..the tech said its the tires..they are no good...so he put them back the way they were at the start..and bingo...the X went straight ...you know?..he was the pro....not me...all he had to say was maybe the tires sucked..and avoided all that hassle....ive never gone back again....but try that....are you tires wearing evenly?...maybe they are bigger on one side if your alignment was off..like mine were
The shop still has it and I kind of thought the same thing about putting the tires back where they were. They also now seem to think something is wrong at the rear of the vehicle, I will check in with them today. Thanks for your response.
I kind of thought the same thig but they assured me doing the one side would be fine, and it was until they did another alingment. I am waiting on a call beck from them and will asked them again about that.
Just talked to the thec. He is now saying the upper ball joint on the driver side is bad. Since they missed this 4 times they are going to replace the driver side for free.
Well I got it back and no pulling to the left, now it's pulling to the right very slightly (with no hands on the wheel). I still have that same vibration at 65 ish. I am thinking the tires are still out of balance. I guess for now I will have to drive at 70ish.
Check your brake calipers, make sure they are not seized. If one is, it could pull to one side. Also I read about diff. fluid and additive for limited slip.
I have all new capliers and just changed the diff fluid. I got the fluid from the dealer so I know I am ok there. It has to be a tires issue since the pull changes from one side to another after tire rotation and alingmnet. I am going to take it some where else when I get back from vacation.
