2001 2wd V-10 Excursion Wheels Ideas

First off let me apologize if I missed a thread about this, I tried to patiently search but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Anyway, I have an '01 2wd Excursion and I'm sick of the stock wheels. I've had the Ex for over 5 years now and I need a change. I'd like to go up to at least an 18" and no bigger than a 22". I've looked at the king ranch 18's but I'm not sure if they're going to fit. I realize that I need to find a 4.5" backspace wheel but all of the warnings I've read about talked of the newer wheels hitting the leaf springs when the steeing wheel was turned. Since I have a 2wd I'm wandering if they would fit. If anyone has any experience with this please let me know.

Secondly, if I choose to go aftermarket, especially with 20's or 22's I am having a hard time with tires. I realize that I am SUPPOSE to run e load range tires but really, how big of a deal is it? I see people running non e-load tires all the time on the Ex's. I really, really like the Bazo B8's but not so much with an A/T tire such as a Nitto Terra Grappler. For a 20" I came up with a 285/50/22 to keep the speedo close, any thoughts/ideas???

Jon

Come on guys, I know someone here can help. I have since found several XL load rated tires that have higher weight ratings than some E's so should I only go by the weight rating of each tire versus the XL, D or E rating?
