mirror question

hey everyone got a question, i have a 2006 ford f-250 super duty with the 5.4l and i got the truck without trailer mirrors, i bought new trailer mirrors at a great deal and they came with defrost. everything plugged in and no pins on the connector where missing. not sure if the truck is wired up for it :S

Unless your truck had heated mirrors installed at the factory, you won't have the wiring for the heat installed. You will have to run wires yourself and decide how you want to power them.

Some owners leave the heat on all the time the key is on. Others use a switch (supplied by key-on power) so they can control them manually. I chose to add a timer relay set up so I can run them for 5 minutes at a time, or turn them on and leave them on until I either turn them off or shut off the key.

You have lots of choices about where to get the power and control it.

The factory setup is for the heat to be on if the ignition is on.

So you are saying my o7 superduty is already wired for heated mirrors?

No, I believe it was an option for 2007 too, but if it did have the option it would be wired to come on with the ignition.

not on m my '09 .. there is a button to turn them on ..
