Super Duty wheels

Can get four 18" wheels from 2010 Lariat with Continental tires and center caps. These are new take offs. He wants $1000.00. Buy or no. Appreciate your help. Best, CB

I think that is an OK deal. I paid $800 for a new set of 08 take offs.

Depends. I've not heard a good word about Continentals. So, depending on your use you might love them or hate them. So, if the tires are gold, great deal. If you will be sorely disappointed in the tires it becomes an issue of $250 a wheel. Not a great deal unless you're in love with the tires AND wheels.

I'd really consider them at $500 for the set, but not at $1000; although I have a different use for them altogether (almost scrapping the tires).

BTW, I priced remanufactured wheels (meaning they are stock Ford wheels, remanufactured) and they were MUCH less than that. So, if you want the tires, go for it, but you might call a few tire/wheel places and price wheels for your truck. If the wheel price is $1000 then it might be worth it, otherwise I think he's hundreds of dollars too high.

I'd pass it up. I'd rather pay about $600 or less. The tires are crappy in my opinion. If they had better tires then it would be a good deal.

If the tires were not Contis I'd say go for it. I had the Conti tracs off and replaced by 3000 miles. Poor traction wet or dry, awful in the snow, vague grip, more like a passenger car tire definitely not for a truck. I would go so far as to consider them unsafe.

Conti's are the worse tire made...

However, I paid almost $1200 for my Michelins alone...

Same here. I have 35k on the Michelins already and they still have about an easy 13/32" tread left. I wouldn't be surprised if I get 75-80k out of them. Only complaint is they really hold onto small rocks and pebbles.

I paid $450 for stock 18s (not lariats, the 8 hole ones) and two bald/two new conti's. Sold the tires for $200 to Discount. I had to drive 750 miles round trip, so he dropped the cost some for me for that, but $1,000 is way more than I'd pay.

At $750 I'd do it.

The 18" Lariet wheels are aluminum. A grand for the wheels with junk conti tires seems high to me. If you live in an area with low snow and rainfall you may be able to get by with the contis.
