Question Mirror Question

I have a 2001 F-250 SD that I am very happy with except when I ordered the truck I didn't do any towing. Now I have a 35" foot travel trailer and I want the towing mirrors, will Fords heated towing mirrors bolt up and is all the wiring already there to use or not? The mirrors on the truck now are not heated.

The mirrors will bolt right up with no problems....However, you will have to run power to the heating element in the mirror.

I used a hot wire going to my electric windows switch. Mine stay on all the time, but I've not noticed any problems with it.

The heated mirrors are on all the time from the factory too. Looks like you did well when deciding which to bumper off of.

Was your truck already wired for the turn lights?

No...I had to wire everything except for the electric mirror. The plugs were different too..

I cut the plugs off my old mirror, spliced them on to the new mirrors, and just ran new wires straight to the mirrors for the heat/signal/led's...

No problem...I'm usually on here every day, keeping up with the latest, but I don't always have time to offer my little bit of knowledge about these trucks...

But, I'm always learning...

Keep me posted on how it goes with the mirrors...
