A ? FOR SCS OWNERS
Why would you choose to go head to head with a guy that has been in the biz 2-3 times as long as you have been alive? He has forgot more about Ford products than most of us will ever know. Learn to pick your battles, as well as proof read just a bit,
that last post was almost unintelligible.
that last post was almost unintelligible.
In a post a coupla months ago, someone was asking about the two types of dealer installed A/C for 1973/79 F100/350's.
I made it clear there were two totally different types, Deluxe and Economy. The Deluxe uses a HUGE bezel that covers up the entire right side of the dash, including the glove box.
The Deluxe kit came with a hang on glove box that bolted to the bottom of the dash.
The Economy uses a simple bezel that also includes two registers and the switches....the original glove box is present.
So, what does Anthony do? He chimes in with pics of what he said was the Deluxe A/C.
Anyone with eyes could see the original glove box was visible on the dash, so it was the Economy version.

Someone else wanted to see what the stripes looked like on 1973 & 1974 Explorers. I made it clear that 1973 is different than 1974, because there are dual stripes on 1973's, while 1974's have triple stripes.
So, what does Anthony do? He posts pics of trucks he found on the net. Both the pics were of 1973 stripes.

Then there was the pushbar question. Anthony chimes in and posts about 8 pics of trucks w/pushbars he found on the net.
Of the eight, ONE was genuine Ford, the rest were aftermarkets.
The pic he posted of the one on his dad's SCS is also an aftermarket.

So...when Anthony post pics...do not take it for granted the pics are correct!
Anthony wants to help out, but in many cases, he hasn't a clue and becomes a hindrance, instead.
Since I'm a stickler for what's correct and what ain't, I have corrected some of the myriad pics he's posted, which leads to him arguing/whining/cajoling/complaining/name calling.
NO! Not a good idea, since Anthony isn't any better when posting pics than he is with anything else.

Not a chance. After dealing with beetle brained pinheads at parts counters for 35 years, it'll be a cold day in hell when a smarmy kid gets the best of me.
I haven't called you any disrespectful, rude names. You've called me so many...
You've never repped me (good or bad) ever, so what you are saying here is CACA del TORO.
I've given 100's of positive rep points to FTE members over the past 44 months, so I know how the system works.
As far as name calling is concerned, what do you call your flagrant abuse of me in this thread...by telling people I didn't know what I was talking about.
My whole point of asking these questions, was so I could determine exactly what the OP's truck was, because he needed brake drums.
Since there is no such thing as a 1979 Super Camper Special, I had no idea what model he actually had.
It'll be a cold day in hell when you know any more than 1% of what I know about Ford: vehicles, parts, and history...and what questions to ask when people need something that is parts related.
I'm through typing with you, because you haven't a clue.

And, Sense he called it a SCS, he know's What a SCS is, and that it's probably a Regular Cab, 2WD, as ALL 140" WheelBase's were. ('73-'79s, that is)
I have too repped you, WAY back when...I was sayin' I'd rep you, But, I can't cause I need to spread the rep around to other's.
It was all a mis-understanding, we BOTH over reacted and were bein' immature and childish (No pun intended
)
You knew what he had, He has a '79 F-350 Camper Special.

When it comes to series of trucks, I've seen posts where people say they have, for example an F600, when the truck is actuallly an N600, or a C600, or an LN600.
Is there such a thing as a 1979 F350 Super Camper Special? No, there is not, Ford dropped the Super name after 1976, so the OP did not know what he had.
Get out your parts catalog = text section 11.2...look up brake drums for a 1979 F350 and you will see different variations based on production dates, 2WD or 4WD, whether a Super Cab or not.
It was a mis-understanding on YOUR part. I knew exactly what I was speaking of. I didn't over react...I reacted to you because you missed the entire reason why I was asking these questions.
CONVERSATION CONCLUDED. Go find someone else to pester...

i forgot, what was the original question?
