Not only have I been around longer than you, but I obviously can read better than you!
Read the post again bird brain, the OP said he has new 79 SCS.
That's why I typed "there were no Super Camper Special's after 1976."
I can read, You asked was it a Super-Cab and was it a 2WD...?
What kind of question is that! of course it's neither one of those things! Sheesh... Think they'd know after 35 years or so...
Also, You should quote the OTHER part of my message, the part that makes YOU like a "Bird Brain"...

The OP said he had a 79 SCS. Since there was no such thing as a Super Camper Special after 1976, I asked him related questions because his entire post was related to rear brake drums.
1977 was the first year Camper Special's were available with 4WD, that's why I mentioned 4WD, because the OP made no mention of it.
I also asked if it was a Super Cab, I didn't say it was a Super Cab.
You might know the difference but don't assume the OP does.
All I was trying to do was to pin down exactly what the OP has inre to brake drums. Since he does not have a SUPER Camper Special, and needs correct brake drum info, these types of questions needed to be asked.

He has a '79 F-350 2WD Single Cab Camper Special with the Lariat trim and a 140" WheelBase.
Decode the Warranty Tag, I posted a picture of it above.
Believe me, he know's what he has, People, call F-350 Camper Special SCS's Because they have the Spare Tire Carrier.

Please explain how I could POSSIBLY have known that the OP's F350 is a Lariat, has 2WD, and is on the 140" wheelbase, since none of this info was in the thread when I first responded?
Look at post #1, do you see any of this info there? Outside of the ref to '79 SCS, the post is related to rear brake drums. The OP's next post (#3) is also related to rear brake drums, which I also responded to.
What is a Single Cab? I've never heard of any such thing.
Since 1973/79 F350 Regular Cab TrailerSpecials were also on the 140" wheelbase, you cannot assume it's a Super Camper Special or Camper Special.
OK smarty pants, since you know all about it, please explain how you can verify if any year truck is a Camper Special, since there are no codes within the VIN or Warranty Plate that decode a Camper Special.
Just because emblems are present doesn't mean squat-due to parts swapping.
guys, guys, the op got his question answered, i learned from Bill that i was missinformed and thanked him for correcting me, now cant we all just shake hands and get along?

Anthony (who I know personally, btw) and I have been sparing on FTE for several years.
I'm 65, have 35 years of Ford parts experience, have been in the old car hobby since 1956 and have owned 331 vehicles.
Anthony is 15, has no Ford parts experience, doesn't own anything, doesn't even have a drivers license, and like most kids his age, thinks he knows everything.
Since I don't know everything, neither does he. Anthony is brash, makes statements that aren't relevant (witness the above wild mule p!ss), and has ruffled a lot of members feathers.
The only reason I asked these questions was so I could figure out what brake drums the OP needed, since he bought the wrong ones.
You'll notice smarty pants ignored the brake drum ref, cuz even though he has had the parts catalog for over a year, he hasn't a clue how to use it.
Your arguments make me chuckle! It's like listening to a kid and his grandpa argue.......and you know the grandpa's right but it's like the kid is just trying to get under his skin! LOL Hey Bill, thanks again for the help.......what about the real thin lower trim that you see on these trucks, the one that follows the contours of the lower body line and goes over the wheel arch, and is the one that divides the colors on the tu-tone trucks. I'd love to paint my truck tu-tone but I think that trim will be obsolete also.
That trim is called racetrack trim and is available aftermarket from LMC truck or Dennis Carpenter. Doubt it would be available for a Super Camper special though........just to stay on topic lol
Yea, but the like you said, I'm sure the scs bed trim isn't available anymore. And we're way off topic, I think I hijacked the poor guys thread! I just had to ask Bill a question while I had his attention.

You are speaking of the Race Track mouldings first offered in 1977 on XLT's and (in 1978) on Lariats.
When the Race Track mouldings are present, there are no lower ribbed bodyside mouldings or wheel opening mouldings...as original.
About a year ago, someone was looking for the lower Race Track moulding that fits behind the spare tire door on the right quarter panel then runs over the top of the wheel opening.
I said to myself...no one is gonna have this moulding. Uh huh...
Well I was wrong, I looked up the part number, searched for it. A dealer in Haven KS had it, and the fellow bought it for the original MSRP which was around 35 bucks!
to every one here i am sorry the caps key was on and didnt relize it no harm meant just asking ?s thats all and the help i get from this site and every one in it is just awsome!!
thank you again regurds joe
Bill, I NEVER said I don't EVERYTHIN'...
I don't know Jack ****, But, I met Diddly Squat!
It was just a miss-understanding...
I think of it as a sibling rivalry, one that'll probably last as long as I'm alive, Because, I'm more stubborn than a mule.
All quarreling aside, I hope Joe has his problems answered...
I got an idea. Anthony, why don't you just be the picture guy. Since you seem to attach mega amounts of pics to almost every post, it would be the perfect job. Let Bill and other knowledgeable peeps take care of the technical stuff. Works for me.
