Ok, I gotta get new weather strips for my truck....I usually use NPD....but i am aware Dennis Carpenter my have better quality...or do NPD use Dennis Carpenter for their weatherstrips? I ask this as I have bought other stuff from NPD and it has been Dennis Carpenter parts they sold me, and Dennis Carpenter didn't have them in stock!!
Is the chrome trim around the windsceen worth having? I have a Ranger XLT, and it currently doesn't have any.....I prefer the look of the wide trim too, but I can't see a reproduction of it.....any clues on where to get some?
Thanks,
Shane
I prefer Dennis Carpenter for the weatherstripping, I haven't bought weatherstripping from NPD so can't help there.
Personally I prefer the wide chrome myself. No one I know of reproduces the moulding and it has been obsolete for years, both front and back.
The narrow plastic moulding was discontinued not too long ago but I don't particularly like the look, it is better than no moulding though.
Also, the weatherstrip for the glass is particular to the moulding. There's w/strip for no moulding, wide moulding and the narrow moulding.
Salvage Yard is your best bet but where you are that might not be very good either.
Don't go cheap on the weatherstripping. Very quickly you will come to regret it. Poor fit, difficult to install, doesn't seal, doesn't last.
Dennis Carpenter is really good.
