can someone please tell me what to torque the cab bolts too on a 78 reg cab f-150.? i asked a few months ago but no one replied so can someone help me this time. id like to get it bolted back up so i can drive it again after the cab swap.
Looked quick in the shop manuals didn't find anything. According to my bolt chart a 7/16"-14 gr5 is torqued to 61 ft/lb and a gr8 is 70 ft/lb.
I'll look closer in the manuals and see if I can find anything.

I found it, this is from the '73 service manual but '78 should be the same.
cab mounts 50 ft/lbs, radiator mount 40 ft/lb.
ok i got another question now that my main problem is now solved. i had my uncle bring me home aluminum sized hockey pucks from wwork that i drilled out and used as a very small body lift. problem is now my front bumper wont fit because of the 3/4 inch lift. i dont want to hackit up since its in such good shape. so when guys put 2 to 3 inch body lift on these trucks how the hell do you reuse the stock front bumper? could some tell me or take a pic so i can see what i have to do. thanks

Try taking the bumper off then put a little quarter inch plate bolted to the frame and drill holes were you want your bumper to be newly located?
i kinda mocked it up today with washers and it worked for the top bolts but then the bottom bolt hole wont line up so i need to drill two holes lower in the good bumper which i really dont want to do or come up with something else. but now that you said use 1/4 inch stock maybe i can use that in the bottom i dont know. i really would like to put the chrome push bar back on also so maybe ill just bite the bullet take the spacers out ad put it back down and bolt everything back up yet again

I am assuming this is a 78-79 Ford. What you can do since your bumper mounts directly to the frame You can take off your bumper, Cut an L shape out of the front of your frame where your bumper bolts on. Bring this piece up 3/4 inch on each side weld it and reinstall the bumper. We did this on my dads old 86 Ford for his 3 inch body lift and it worked perfectly. If your truck has a 73-77 highboy chassis you can do the same thing, but only to the brackets that hold the bumper on. Good luck
