PCV Valve Question

I decided to change my stock old pcv system on my 400.
Sooo, I ordered from a parts store a pcv valve and a billet aluminium breather which i thought would look nice. When i got the pieces i noticed they sent me a breather closed with an integrated pcv valve and a tube fitting. Now, I know how the positive crankcase ventilation system works, and 2 valves on each valve cover openning will obviously stop the flow, so i was thinking maybe removing the pcv valve from the breather and running a hose from the breather fitting to my air cleaner, but since there will be nothing stopping the air from commming either way will the carb be able to pull gases from the crankcase thus stoping the air flow of the pcv system aswell?

Also its not the first time ive seen this pcv air breather with an integrated pcv valve, ive just never used it or seen it installed, so what? this is supposed to replace the pcv valve itself?

thanx

This is what I did, based on what I've seen in the junkyards on the 70s sedans with
these engines. On mine, the PCV valve connects to one of the big ports underneath the
carburetor (the other one connects to the power brake booster).

Ok, but what about the other valve cover, so with the other valve cover you just ran a unfiltered hose to your air cleanaer?

There's a filter inside the air cleaner housing, it's a FRAM thing that I think they call a PCV
filter or something like that. It's a flat piece of foam rubber in a plastic shell, I'll see if I can
take a pic tonight after work if ya want.

Im gonna change the way im asking,So, I got confused with the breather i got, since it has also a pcv. So the pcv valve i have and the breather with the pcv inside are both for a cleveland and the same "·"$·%"$ brand, but they flow differently, the valve inside the breather flows alot more and is bigger than the regular one. I could use any of em as a pcv valve and any of em as a runner to the intake, just dont know which since a specific flow must be used. Ill be testing them in both positions....

Here are a couple of P/N's to look at from rockauto.FRAM Part # BA3525
Crankcase air filter&MOTORCRAFT Part # FA675.See if either of these will work out for you.

Here are pics of mine:

The filter is a standard breather filter (Fram, I believe) that I got at Target or WalMart or some
such.

My air cleaner is from a late-70s station wagon, I use it cuz it reminds me of the Mustang I
had as a kid.
