Im going to lift the rear of my 2000 Expedition 4x4 2" and had a question...So I believe that you have to compress the springs in order to get the 2" spacers on. So wanted to know if these would work?
That's the same type I used when I did my rears, got the tool at Harbor Freight.
I didn't pay real close attention to the first side and tightened down the bolts evenly and bent them a little but they worked fine for the other side.
Just a word of advice. I bought 2" spring spacers for my Expy and ended up cutting them in half. Unless you have a plan to relocate the shock mounts, or can find longer shocks, I wouldn't do the 2" spacer. You end up right at the end of the shock travel.
These trucks have extremely limited suspension travel, without some extra work, spring spacers and lifting with the torsion bars just doesn't work out very well in my experience. As much as I do not care for them, a body lift might work better to get big tires under the truck. You can do 33's though, and with just an extra inch in back my truck sits nicely. It does away with the sagging butt look most Expys have.
Having a spring compressor really helps, they are pretty generic, most any one will work.
