Everybody seems to be ordering the AutoSpring leveling kits instead of Daystar, Protech, etc, but I haven't heard anyone on this forum talk about them. Sounds like the big difference is installation - no spring compressor needed. These spacers mount on top of the strut instead.
Anybody with thoughts/opinions on this style of spacer?
I wouldnt want that if someone gave it to me and installed it for free. You can kiss you ride quality goodbye. I did extensive research between daystar, protech and autospring. I bought Protech, and I couldnt say better things about it. I cant believe anyone who has this likes it.
Just my 2 cents, but I would recommend Protech, then Daystar 2nd.
I gave it alot of thought, did alot of reading, and I went with the protech. It should be here friday. I asked someone on ebay what he thought of the autospring he bought, said he was removing them and going with daystar. I went to a shop about lining my truck up after I installe the kit, $54, I asked him what he would charge to put in the kit, $90, I said go for it, it's pretty hot. I went with the 2.75" kit. Can't wait to get the front end up like it should be.
Gowestfx4...you found a shop to install your front lift kit for $90????? I went to Four Wheel Parts here in Houston and they want $500 for installation and purchase of a 2.5" daystar kit!

Just shows how much 4wheel parts rips you off, they wanted $1050 for the lowering kit + intstall, i got it for $800 out the door.
Well I read a bunch of great reviews on this kit, so I bought it (AutoSpring 1.5). I will put it on when I get, and if I dont like I will take it off. Either way it goes I will let you guys know.
Question?
From what I understand the only differance between the two is on (Daystar and Protech) you have to spread your springs apart to put the spacer in thats why you need a shop to install, and on AutoSpring you just put the spacer on top of the spring. I read on another forum that it didnt change the guys ride at all on his truck with the 1.5 lift.
Got the protech put in today, lined up and labor, $145.95. Love the new look, but now i have to spend more for bigger tires. Then I get home and my wife said she misses the sound of my old truck with the flowmaster on it, and for once she's right so thats next on the list. I'm moving from Va to Wa and I want a cap to cover what we take with us. Leer has one on sale till the end of the month, $300 off so I can't pass that up. I can't stop spending money on this truck. Getting back to the protech, it's all I hoped it would be, no real change in the ride, and a great look.
I have the AutoSpring leveling kit on my Lariat screw. I had the kit installed for $70.00 and I had the truck re-aligned at the dealer for free. The ride quality is unchanged and the truck looks great. So don't be dumping on something that you haven't any personal experience with.
Have a nice day.

Dear Mark - my brother has an 04 F-150 SCAB 4x2 - same as mine, but red. He installed it, it sucks, ride quality stinks - he took it off. He has the Daystar kit now, and loves it.
I think I will keep dumping on it. Have a nice day and thanks for your post.
