Ya I spent hours on a tractor at the yard, seems mine is a heavy duty one with a 20 bolt pan and a lot bigger than all the ones I've seen. Supposedly they were also in the F250 and F350's.
I'm not having much luck, mine is actually doing fine but it could go out at time I figure. It wouldn't downshift, then jerked 3 times in reverse, but it's been fine since. I dropped the pan and the fluid which I just changed in April was brown with just a few small pieces of metal.
All E4OD transmissions have 20 bolt pans.
There was no heavy duty ones unless you put non stock parts inside it yourself.
True the 1995-1996 were stronger transmissions than the 1994 and older but they still look the same other than the plugs.
I think but may be wrong that you do need one out of a 4.9L engine truck.
Ya I think what I'm mainly seeing is the C6 with the E4od being the heavy duty one. Supposedly I can use one from a different motor but I'm might be limited to 95 and 96 due to the plug connections.

Not all engines have the same bolt pattern to the transmission. What I am saying is I do not know what other engine has the same bolt pattern as the I6 (4.9L).

I am aware of that but I know I can use 95 and 96 E4od's from different engines in both the E series and F series they share the same bell housing. Problem is most of them are c6's not E4od's.
