"Error Code P0683 - Generic - Glow Plug Control Module to PCM - Communication Circuit"
I've gotten this error code several times now and I don't think it's related to my DP Tuner, but don't know for sure. Does anyone have an idea what may be causing this code to be issued?
The GPCM (it is used in place of a GPR on Cali trucks and EXs) is going bad or gone. Easy to replace. Best price I have seen is at Riffraff Diesel. You won't need to get a new one until the weather turns so you've got time.

So, I've figured out that GPCM stands for Glow Plug Control Module.
I assume there's only one and I'm going to look for it, but it will help if you can give me a clue where to find it (a photo would be even better).
Also, I looked at the GPCM shown in the Riffraff Diesel link above and I don't see any others. Is it the one I should buy for my 2002 F250 7.3L Diesel?
Ok, removed the old GPM and installed new one. Wasn't hard to install -- just awkward to get at because of the location and the air tube in the way -- but I got it done w/o dropping the nuts (which was the hardest part).
Was getting the same error code just about each time I started the truck recently. In fact, got one when I started the truck just before I installed the new GPM. So, hopefully, this will solve the problem. Will let you know. Thanks!
