i want to get a tymar 3-4" downpipe for my 97 f250 and since the website is down how much do one of those cost. also i need to have a cat on the truck to fool the techs at the suck your wallet dry smog station. any one know where to find dummy cats cause i really don't want to spend 250 bucks at summit racing just to hollow it out and run it.
I think as far as the Cat thing, two options as for affordability.. One being to look at ebay, I have seen them there. Most places I see shy away from. The other being to hollow out a cat yourself, which isnt hard. You could probably pick up a pipe just slightly under the diameter of the hollowed out cat, set it into the cat, weld it in, and bolt it back up!
I played the game of dealing with emissions stations before.. I dont know what the laws are in Nevada, but cali was a PIA! I hope that helps a little!
Tymar does not have a working website, you need to call. Dale is a good guy and will help set you up right.
Brown Falcon has a good suggestion regarding the cat. I opted to go with a Magnaflow Hi-flow cat, but have not had a smog inspection since installing it. I kept the factory cat just in case I need it.
