It's been a few years but power should go from the battery to the headlamp switch and then to the high beam, low beam switch on the floor and then out to the headlights. I have had problems with the high, low switch getting corroded and the headlights don't work. It's kind of in a bad place on the floor especially here in Mn. With the snow it gets salt and slush tracked on it. I believe the center one is the power from the switch and the outside ones go to the head lights. One high and other low. I would check out this switch also.
I have a 1980 f150. I have brights, but no dims. I just noticed it tonight and both lights are like that. Checked all fuses (haha there isn't one for headlamps i found out). Sooooo are you saying bob that if I change out that floor mounted hi/lo light dimmer switch (silver round **** looking rig) that this might fix my problem? Thanks! I figured this may be a similar fix seeing how our vehicles are so similar.
