ID this tranny

I pulled this from an ebay add am trying to figure out what tranny these are? Looks like a top loader but not sure. Any idea based on the numbers?

The picture is gone off the Ebay site, but it would be a 4 speed od used from about '78 to '85 in cars and E/F150s. Several versions, a top shift used later, the turret/rail shift--SROD, as in "Single Rail OverDrive", and a side shifted unit. Top and SROD are aluminum case, Side shift is iron.

They are weak with poor ratios. Bearings seem to be an issue also.

I had one behind a 300. I had bearing noise at 70k, never fixed it. Didn't blow up on me though.... The gap between 2nd and 3rd makes them unpleasant to drive at times--think a 35 or 40 mph uphill road with curves and a decent to full load. 2nd is too low but it won't pull 3rd. Your area of discomfort may vary, depending on gears and tires.

They look like the '60s performance toploader because that's the basic design.
