Was driving down the highway today and saw a pickup, I won't say the brand of truck but it starts with a D, that had exhaust stacks on it. As I passed him I notice on each one of the stacks there was a wire or cable coming out the side of them. About 1/3 of the way down from the top of the stack. Any ideas what this was for. Is it a sensor of some sort?
I go to alot of truck shows and some guys put propane lines to the top of the stacks to make flames shoot out. they also run a wire for an electric ignition, like on a gas grill, to light the propane. If you go on Custom Truck Hoods: Fiberglass Custom Truck Hoods | Jones Performance Products, Inc. the home page shows a picture of a truck shooting flames.
On the old hot rods they used to put a spark plug in the tailpipe to fire the unburnt gas... might be the same thing.
The newer ones run a gas LINE about 2 feet from the tip and put a spark plug in it....Wouldn't mind having some straight pipes out the back when someone gets close enough to my car to make me mad
