DASH Pads

What do you guys recommend for replacing, repairing a cracked up ugly dash pad. Looking for options other than $450.00 dollars for a new one, my wife wouldn't let me back in the house if I spent that on a dash pad!!!

My truck doesn't have one.
Its took out and the holes filled and the metal dash is going to be painted the color of the truck

I filled in the cracks on mine and then bought some very nice black viynl and glued it over the old one, it looks a lot better than the old one and only spend forty bucks. Eric

I've thought about this in the past. I thought about gluing foam to the metal dash and then gluing material over that to create a different visual effect. It would take some ingenuity to blend with trim but easy enough. Just trim the foam about 1/4" away from the ents and put the vents on top to help hold the dash in. Then make a custom lower trim to tie the pad to the face of the dash. The OEM typr trim just pushes into holes drilled and would not be real secure unless you glued the edge of the trim to the dash as well.
