I picked up some parts at my local dealer and they had a bunch of new SuperDutys with both the 6.7 and the new gasser.
The interior is SUPER nice and the cab feels more like the size of the gen 8.
The engine is absolutely packed in there. The sales guy seemed to know quite a bit about past and present Ford trucks. He said you still have to lift the cab off to work on the motor like you do on the 6.4.
Hah, look under them the next time your there. Theres 8 bolts in the open and a few quick connects for all the electrical under the hood. Somebody who has some experence is suppost to be able to remove and replace the cab in 1/2hour.

I will check. That is interesting.
They should make it like an old flat front semi where the cab just folds forward
Ford made a big deal out of "normal repairs" not requiring the cab off.
Well I would like to know what the hell normal repairs are. I would like to think no repairs is the norm.
The cab rarely had to come off on the 6.4 either, but it was sometimes the easiest way. Time will tell, but I think we'll see some cabs off the 6.7 as well. If the repairs are few, we won't care.
Supposidly anybody with a 4 contact point lift can do it. Might require special inserts which ive never seen it come off. Im sure there is some kind of dowels that go into certain holes to line it up perfectly so it doesnt hit anything coming back down

That would make sense.
Man I want one so bad too.
Too bad there is no manual shifter. That and, well, I don't have $58,490 to blow on a truck.
The automatic isnt really as bad as the 2010s and prior. I know you guys still like the full control thing but ive owned about 10 vehicles over my 8 years driving (alot of upgrading) My 06 mustang gt and this are the best shifting. I got an idea that the higher power of the new diesel would make the ECU mad with a manual. I know the vette has this problem. Couldnt tell you about the CTS-V 6speed. Clutch was such a bitch i would just dump it after taking off in 1st gear and never really got really hard on it. Thats a death trap with a manual lol.
I've been to the dealer and saw even 6.0 with the cabs off, I think since the dealer has the tools to do it, Why not just pull the whole cab and make life easier. IMO, the should make a mechanism so the front body panels sort off open like a door to expose the engine.
From what I understand, the new diesel engine is a common rail high pressure fuel system with the high pressure fuel pump on the top of the motor in the back, literally impossible to get to without pulling the cab.
Sorry I should have been more clear on that, I dont remember exactly which ones but there were only a small number of repairs that required cab removal. The 6.7 is supposed to be way more tech friendly in that aspect. I'll take my chances wih it over the 6.4 that I can barely cram my hand in it anywhere....
