My son has a 92 F150 with a 302, when he turns on the ac the idle drops and the truck wants to die and sometimes does. I have replaced the iac, checked the tb , replaced the tps and still have the same problem. When this happens, the volts also drop. The alt and vol reg are new and traced the wires with no signs of problems. Please help this is driving me crazy and it is 30 degrees hotter than hell her right now.
At least his truck has AC. Mine doesn't haha. Mine is also not running just yet and my car doesn't have AC either so I'm just hot all the time, tis life.
Uh...you replaced parts, but did you check the voltage drops across the wires to ALL of those parts?
Could be bad wiring that isn't visible. Check the wiring for the A/C compressor clutch for excessive voltage drop.
Question, as soon as it turns on and the voltage drops have you revved the truck up to see if it improves the situation?
Serpentine belt or multiple? Based on the year I'm assuming serpentine. No belt squeel? Keep a good eye on the tensioner when that huge draw is applied, make sure it's not letting the belt slack up much.
