Im looking at doing some mods that will help increase my gas mileage. I know that my 99 F250 is a big truck and great gas mileage isn't possible but any little bit will help. Any suggestions?
I've heard of guys getting mid twenties to almost 30 mpg. Is this possible?
i really dont know but that sounds high....
i get around 15 on mine but its a dually and has 4.10 gears. i just cleaned my EBPS tube this past weekend and filled up so i'm hoping i'll see an improvement.
Synthetic's will help, and yes your rear diff should have Syn, in it, getting more than 21mpg's in these trucks is a rare thing, it's all about air flow, and not over fueling, and driving habit's as mentioned before.
I think 25+ MPG is dreaming. My best tank is 22mpg, all 60-65mph highway, no load, no stop and go. I usually get around 17-18mpg, mostly 75mph highway and a little bit of city.
4WD will always get worse than 2WD also. Not sure what you have. My personal best is about 18.5 but i know of at least one person here in MN that can get 20-21 out of his consistently
