Door locks acting up

I've got a 2000 F250SD, full 4 door, and today the door locks started acting up. One will lock the other will half way and one won't do anything. This changes sometimes and sometimes all work. Seems like all of this just started today. Do I need to do the penny or tinfoil mod or is this a relay switch problem? Someone told me to replace the panel on the door that has all of the controls.

Thx,
Jimmy

Here's the latest thread on this fix:

I did a similar fix on mine using foil to wrap the resistor and it still works fine over a year later.

I need to do this on one of my rear doors. It's lazy and I need to hit the unlock 2 or 3 times before it pops up.

While you're in there, be sure to hit anything that rubs or twists on anything with the appropriate lubricant. Oil or grease, depending on the parts.

I did all my lock servos a couple of years ago, but recently one was acting up again. When I got it out of the latch mechanism I discovered it still had lots of torque, but it just wouldn't move a mechanism with a lot of friction.

I did not open up the servo again at all, and after proper re-lubrication of the latch mechanism, everything works "as advertised" and snappy again.

Thank you all for your replies. What is the best lubricant to use?

I used Tri-Flow on all the pivot points, and Unirex RS-460 on anything that slides against anything.

Probably should have done the window channels while I was in there. Oh well, there's something for a "rainy day"...
