Here is the problem. I had a leak from my Hpop on the do not remove plug...lol. removed and replaced the o-ring and the truck ran for 3 days no oil leaks. Then the oil started leaking profusely from the same o-ring. Took back off the hpop and the treads had came loose on the bolt with the rod on it. Tapped and installed heli-coil and clean and replace. The time to get heili-coil was 2 days with truck setting waiting on tap from napa auto parts. 3/8" 24 bolt go figure fine treads. So got it all put back together and will not start. May just get a new hpop but want to try to fix this damn thing myself. Any ideas why it wont start?
I decided after talking to my dad's friend that is an expert diesel mechanic that the pump is toast and never going to pump up to 500 psi to start the engine. Going to a place in houston, texas gonna set me back 650 dollars for a reman and thats with the core trade in.
The repair went easy just installed the new pump and installed fuel bowl and connect all the lines and wires.....and presto truck started. Ran alittle rough for about 10 miles then ran like a champ!
