It has a few more miles than I would like... 101,000 miles.
I have never owned a diesel, what things should i be concerned with this year of a truck?
The carfax seems Okay. The VIN is 1FMNU44P25EA05814. The truck is about 250 miles from me, but I will be sure to find a local dealer to get an Oasis report.
Maintenance is key on the 6.0. See if you there is a record of all the maintenance that was done as well. Other than that, look at the degas bottle maybe check for any signs of puking coolant. Good luck Sharp truck!!
Jealous. I want to buy my wife an '05 but cant find one with decent mileage for a reasonable price. Would like to have a diesel, but for her I am leaning towards a V10.
Can i get an Oasis report without bringing the truck to a dealer? Can i just call a dealer with the VIN?
Also, how are the 2WD Excursions for traction and mileage? I kind of like the fact that this one is 2wd. I assume it should get better gas mileage than a 4wd and one less thing to worry about breaking. My F-150 is 4WD anyway so i dont need two 4wd's.
Well I guess I will try to buy it if the maintenance looks good and I can get an Oasis report. Hopefully it doesnt sell before I can get there. I can't go this weekend, will have to wait until July 5th.
Its sure gonna be nice to seperate the kids, take trips, and plenty of power to tow they toy/toys of choice.
I have had 2 Excursions since 2000. They are completely awesome! My gripe is carfax. There has been a few folks who have been playing games with them (carfax). It is possible to "title wash" a vehical and remove any blemishes. I would be very carefull if it shows previously titled in Alabama or another bordering state. Also, if the salesman says "the auction company said there might be frame damage but we didnt find any, so its ok." As for MPG, I think 14 for gas (v10) and 18 for diesel is the norm. 4x4 or not.

I hope to go look at it this weekend.
Thanks for any input.
I see you didn't buy it, it's still there.
BTW, I drove it last month while shopping for an '05 Ex.
I bought mine across the street at another used truck dealer.
It wouldn't start, they had to swap out the batteries.
Then when I drove it it wandered a LOT and had a HUGGGEEEE
hesitation when using light/medium throttle.
I was disappointed in Gibson Truck World, the '05 Limited with 61k
was all trashed in their shop with lots of repairs needed.
The PO hauled lots of stuff inside lots of wear and tear,
it was the reason I went there - DON'T buy without a test DRIVE!
