Intake Manifold Poll

I've done a lot of reading on here on the different intakes. I can find equal amount of good and bad about them all. So I thought an old fashion poll might be in order. So what Intake Manifold do you use and what do you like/dislake about it most?

Considering how these really are the only choices (besides discontinued intakes), it would be great if the majority of 2bbl/4bbl runners put their input into the poll and this was made a sticky.

Especially how often this question comes up, and how common it is.

I have the Offenhauser DP on mine because I do off-roading and like keeping the low end torque.

Yes there were a lot of threads and I read through just about all of them. But I still was unsure. I thought a poll might consolidate all the good info on these three items. I have to buy one so I know it will help me.

Offy DP or C would be my preference. I bought a DP because when I was shopping it came up cheap enough and available. Either one is fine although the C is more versatile in that one can run a 2v carb if so desired.

It should be noted: With the 'C' the carb sits parallel to the engine. However, with the DP the carb sits perpendicular to the engine.

i have a clifford simply because it was cheaper and more readily available at the time i needed one. i'm sure someone has done it by now, but i would some day like to buy one of each and compare them on a dyno to see if there really is much of a difference in performanace.

I don't currently have a 4bbl intake for my 300, but I would choose the offy DP over the others if all 3 were available to me, at the same price.
Buying a used intake, I would buy whichever one was available at the best price, but would be willing to pay a bit more to get the DP rather than the others.
Buying new, it would be a DP, no question.

for what I use my 300 for(off road 4x4) and with the research that I did I got the DP offy.... haven't tried it out yet but hope to real soon cost wasn't an issue tho just what I wanted for my needs....

alot of 300's on the dirt track around here and the DP is mostly used on them as well as the holly 390 carb, info from a port guy that does mainly race'n engines and did my head as well and was glad to see the DP and match it up to the head

will need to mod somit no matter what one you use from what I read but not a huge issue and all the info is here to help ya out.

The Offy DP has an individual hole for each barrel (which is why it can only be used on 4bbls), and the Offy C and Clifford have one large opening.

Offy DP:

Offy C

Offy DP has 4 holes, and divided runners (top/bottom) and has "Dual plane" cast onto it, while the offy C has a single large, square hole.

I have a c, I like that the carb is in line with the valve cover. this also allowed me to use the stock throttle cable after I made a bracket to hold it
