Well I hooked up my boost and pyrometer gauges this evening and the boost gauge does not register anything. The pyro is working fine. I disconnect the connection on the MAP line and get no movement one way or another at the open connection. I have 1/8 line running off of the 1/4 MAP line. I have checked the entire runn for kinks finding none. Sorry to post a long question on your post.
I have now, it appears to be working correctly. Did notice the pyro went to 1200 when I put my foot into it. boost went to about 18. The pyro dropped back to about 800 almost immediately upon taking my foot out of the accelerator.
It's probably reading correctly, but add about 100-200* to know what the temps are coming out of the cylinders. Post-turbo pyro readings run cooler than when the pyro is mounted in the exhaust manifold.
I was gonna say!... My pyro is pre turbo. Mine hits 1000 degrees like nothing even in 80E. If I floor it in 140 aggressive it'll go up to 1400 sometimes. My max says 1490 . Which is pretty hot ,but from what I've gathered, Its not bad if it doesn't have time to heat up the components to that temperature. I think magnaflows are a little hotter since the muffler is huge?...
That makes sense, Ive just been told anything over 1200* is bad news.
IIRC, you wanna stay below 900 post turbo. If you're seeing 1200 post, you're running way too hot. The EGT's go down as they pass through the turbo, which is why most guys say add 100-300 degrees to your reading.
