No the kit mudhengib is referring to, applies only to '05 and newer models.

You may want to look into the discharge tube as well, if it has rubbed under the cover. The part number for this, is 3C3Z-9T288-AA.
I may get some flac on this but If im selling a pump to a customer they get to buy a tube too. I dont like doing one without the other.
Considering how thin that metal is already it doesn't take much rubbing at 4000 psi to blow a hole in it. IMHO that's a smart thing to do, just never seen that recommendation before.

Is there a replacement cover for an 04 motor too?
oddly I have never repalced a cover on one. I didn't even know of the update. so I to learned something new.

I do have pictures of the under sides of both covers that will easily illustrate what I'm referring to. However, I don't know how to post pics, so call me an idiot if you like. I don't mind. And yes, I agree that I wouldn't be putting in a new pump without the discharge tube as well.
