c6 problems
does anybody know how much end play a C6 output shaft should have. Mine has about 3/8 to 1/2 inch end play. I can move the shaft in and out that much. Could that be part of the vibration that i feel. Some time when I have a vibration i can put it in neutral and back in gear and it stops. Maybe I'm in for a Tanny rebuild.

Try a new tailshaft bushing and seal first.

Putting a weight on it will not solve the problem.

That much end play in the output shaft may be a major problem. End play is measured in thousands of an inch. It may be that the rear thrust bearing has spun in the recess in the transmission case and may need the case replaced. Big bucks!!

Ya, that is what I'm thinking. I was starting to look at replacing the c6 with a AOD. Looks like the money pit needs to be filled again. Hope I can slide this by the wife.
And to top it off, yesterday I was readjusting my door latched and got busy looking for a tool and I had left the drop light on the seat. Nice burn mark. Well this will get a fire under me to get some new seats.
Isn't this just fun.
