Valvetrain question 300 6cyl
You guessed it, everythings mixed up. No new parts here yet. Here goes:
The pushrods all look indentical. Just throw them back in or get a new set to reduce uneven wear?
I can tell the longer springs belong to the intake valves. Anything I should know about that?
Also, water did get into the cylinders and pushrod holes. Ive honed and cleaned the cylinders, pistons already back in. Ive didnt have any oil handy so I sprayed WD40 into the pushrod holes after hearing something in there could dry out. Dont know what I was thinking. Thoughts on that?

Me, I can't see rebuilding an engine w/o installing new v. springs, but I guess it depends on mileage. I would want the insurance of new. I came across an entry by a guy doing a rebuild. He said his machinist showed him tiny ridges created where p.rod touches r. arm. Machinist said to always replace p.rods and rockers for oil psi sake.
Cover lifters with lube, p.rod ends, and v.stem tip. Always new bearings. It's wise to have rods reconditioned imo.

One less thing I was hoping to have to buy. This started as an exhaust gasket..until I saw the valves. It snowballed after that. I cleaned out the intake as best I could. New bearings replacing the .030's that looked very good. Honed and new rings. Cleaned the pistons n rockers. New stem seals, lapped valve seats. I have to keep reminding myself that I put about 10mi a week on it. My only wish is that its slightly better than before. Fact is, it ran fine when I started this...even with several broken rings.
