What improvements have you observed with these tunes? I have been thinking of going with these three. I am still on factory head bolts, also.
The EGR disable should result in lower coolant and oil temps while under heavy loads, as well as keep the intake, and intake side of the turbo cleaner. It should reduce soot in the exhaust, and imrove MPG. I'll be doing my firsttiw with the new tunes this weekend, so I'll let you know.
I think it did better on coolant/oil temps. The outside air temps were way higher than the last time I towed, but I was not doing as many hills. On the one big hill I pulled, it ran around 216 ECT. On the last trip, with OAT's about 20 degrees cooler, it hit 220 ECT with and the fan had to run at warp speed to keep it there.
I haven't checked MPG yet, as I haven't filled it up since we got back yesterday. I might fill it tomorrow.
From looking at the fuel gauge, though, I think MPG was not improved though.
When I bought this truck, I was hoping for 18 MPG solo/13 MPG towing, but I'm getting more like 16/10. Trailer is a 34' travel trailer that is about 10' high (not counting AC) and 8 1/2' wide. The trailer weighs approx 8500 lbs loaded for camping.
Just yesterday, I saw a post claiming 12 MPG pulling a 12k 5th wheel. I guess maybe some of the claims are exaggerating....
I have three co-workers with Dodge/Cummins trucks, all claim solo milelage of 18-20. The trucks are a '97 12V, a '99, and an '03 HO.
I would have preferred a Cummins, but don't like the POS truck they come in.
Some trucks get better milage than others,my 350 gets 12+ on the highway with 5 ton in tow in a 24'cargo trailer, but the ex only gets 11 in town empty and you have to try hard to get better than 18 empty on tha highway.Yet the 350 gets in the low 20s empty on the highway without thinking about it.

From your sig, I see you have a 6 speed manual trans? That might be part of it. What is are your final drive ratio?
My truck has the 5-speed auto (5R110?) and 3.73 final drive (which should give better MPG than the optional 4.10 or 4.30).
I drove it to work today and will get fuel on the way home to see what kind of MPG I got this past weekend. The better test will be in two weeks when we head to the beach with the camper in tow. That trip is 180 miles one way, so the fuel used idling during hookup, setup, etc will be less significant.
