so when i bought my truck..(69 f100 ranger) my great uncle had took out the am radio it came with and left it like this
he gave me the radio with am/fm but i have no idea how to put it back in.
heres the radio
i have no idea what those metal things on the sides are for, and ive only found the one wire the comes from the truck that plugs into the raido, but
there is a white wire that comes from the radio and i cant seem to find where
to plug that in. would it just be eaiser to just jun the raido and put a new raido in?
sorry for being such a and asking so many questions.
Those metal tabs need to be straightened out as this is where the radio will mount, radio needs to go in from either the bottom or remove the glove box liner and then the defrost tube and should slide in from there. It is a tight fit so patience is required.
AM/FM was not offered in an F-series prior to 1971. That radio is 1973-up. Original '71-'72 AM/FM radios did not have the balance bar under the push buttons. That is also the reason that you cannot find the correct radio electrical plug.
