What do you guys think about keeping the $2,700 warranty? If I gave it back I'd pay less in int and pay the truck off 5 months sooner. If I keep it I have that piece of mind knowing it's there. I do like that it covers the oil changes for 5 years, how much are they usually, $35?
I know the warranties can be a hassle because they'll give you a run around on fixing things sometimes.
It will only cover manufacturer's recommended oil changes...which I believe are 7500 miles or 6 months. As I said in post #22...I think you paid ay too much for the warranty. Contact Troy...he'll treat you right and walk you through the procedures for cancelling the old one and starting a new one...reasonably priced.
If the actual cost of the warranty was $1,200. And the oil changes are worth $500 plus the cost of other maintanince. I would keep the warranty. Do you live near the dealership?
There are probably 5 Ford dealerships within 20 minutes of my house. This one is maybe the closest at around 10 miles. I live in a small city in the middle of DFW so my city doesn't actually have any dealerships or big stores.
I thought it was funny how presuring the people were on getting me to be happy so I'd fill out their survey with all perfect marks. The last offer she said the manager was going to get in trouble for offering me that because the rate was too low but if he explained it to be for "customer satisfaction" then it would be ok. The salesman also told me in the morning sales meeting on Monday that someone got yelled at for quoting me the price of the truck that low. I believe the truck was priced pretty low considering 2 other dealerships said there was no way they could match it. All the other, probably yadda yadda because there is money to be made somewhere in there.
I do think it would be funny to cancel the policy and leave then huge in a hole though.
I live in the DFW area by the airport and am looking for a 2010 F-150 4x4 SuperCrew 5.4 (also looking at used F-250 Diesels and Lincoln Navigators, but leaning towards a new F-150). Which dealers did you talk to and who gave you the best price? Found a truck I like at Ford Country in Lewisville.
Thanks,

I got my truck at Grapevine Ford. I first got my quote from David Gower and when I went in Jesse Garza helped me. I think one reason I got my truck for so cheap was that they thought I was another dealership shopping their prices. I had about a month ago asked for a quote on an Edge for my dad and then I got a quote for an F-150.
I bought a Focus at Ford Country in Lewisville once and had a good experience there. What I would do is find your truck on all the dealerships websites and request a quote from them. You might want to set up a new email address to do it because you get tons of emails from them after just getting a quote.
I don't know if you read my whole thing but they dropped my int rate from 8.99% from Ford to 2.99% from Chase if I bought an extended warranty. You have the option to cancel the extended warranty within 30 days per the contract but they can't raise the rate back up on you.
