You only have to make one payment before you can refinance... No penalty there... I took the extra 1000 rebate for financing with Ford, then made one payment and refinanced at half the rate.

Excellent point and make sure you look for some total loss insurance with your lender. Some lenders actually require it in some cases.
I just got home. I wound up getting suckered into the extended warranty but they lowered the int rate down to make the payment the same. It seemed like a good deal but I'll have to calc it out to see if it really was. I was at 8.99% from Ford Motor Credit and with the warranty and the discount it was 2.9%. I figure $500 a month for 60 months is $500 for 60 months either way. The only problem is if I was to refinance or sell it early I'd have about $3k more on the loan.
Wait - they gave you 11k+ off of sticker and 2.9% financing? That's unheard of...more details please!
MSRP: 34,230 + 300 (tint) = $34,530
Sale Price: 23,207
Warranty and Maintenance Plan - $2,745 (60 months, 75k all scheduled maintenance and warranty work)
TTL: 1,843.40
Down Payment: $1,000
Total Financed: 27,794.50
Payment: 60 months @ 2.9% = $499.31
The warranty covers 60 months, 75k all scheduled maintenance and warranty work.
I could have either take 8.99% for 60 months with no warranty and payment would have been the same as 2.99% for 60 months with the warranty. I probably should have not done the warranty and refinanced at 5% which makes the warranty overall cost about $1,200.

I think they took you up top on the ESP/Maintenance plan. You can cancel it for a refund...which would go to the finance source. Contact Troy Dietrich at Ford of Greenfield... tdietrich@fordofgreenfield.com
If you want the ESP/Maintenance...he can sell you one cheaper. No B/S...genuine Ford plans.
Also...I believe that it is against the law to offer you a better rate if you take additional stuff. I belive it's called "conversion".

my thoughts as well....I am in Toronto so sure the rules and regs may be different in Canada. But I was offered I think $1900 (CDN) on warranty plan for 5 years 150,000 kms ( high mileage driver) ....and that was for a 2010 XLT XTR 4x4 ....I passed on it btw...
I just read through my contract and it says I can cancel within 30 days as long as there are no claims made. So I could cancel it, get the $2,745 back and keep my 2.9% int rate....sounds like a good deal...I know the dealership will be super p'd at me if I do that but oh well, they shouldn't have been so hard up in the finance office.
AI guess that depends on were he lives re the 4x4...his profile doesn't say?
if you click on his name and go to about me. it says he is from Texas. I think he is getting an exceptional deal. maybe if he went with the 4x4 he would obviously have to pay the extra for the 4x4 but maybe the incentives are not as good as the 2wd and the overall cost would be dramatically higher.

what is the standeard warranty that comes with the truck?
Standard Ford warranty of 36 months/36k miles bumper to bumper and 60 months/60k miles powertrain.
Yes I'm in Texas. 4x4 would be nice but that extra is like $3k which was already over what I wanted to spend. We get snow maybe once a year and we have a AWD Mazda CX7 if we need to brave that.
It's nice to be back in a Ford, my first car was a 1992 Ranger. I sold my black 2001 F-150 Regular Cab Sport 2wd 5-speed V6 in 2005. I had a 4.5" suspension lift, 3" body lift, 35" AT tires, and a PIAA airdam on the front with 150 watt KC daylighter longthrows. I really liked that truck but driving it back and forth to work became too much. After that I had a 2005 Altima, 1994 Camaro Z28, 2003 Nissan 350z, and then the CX7 which I just gave my wife.

The $2745 would go to the bank...not to you. It would reduce the amount you pay back...but...not change your payments.
What do you guys think about keeping the $2,700 warranty? If I gave it back I'd pay less in int and pay the truck off 5 months sooner. If I keep it I have that piece of mind knowing it's there. I do like that it covers the oil changes for 5 years, how much are they usually, $35?
I know the warranties can be a hassle because they'll give you a run around on fixing things sometimes.
