Tachometer
So uh, I'm just wondering who can idle below 1000 RPMs?
My truck hesitates at anything under a grand. If you are in gear and you let it coast and she drops down to maybe 800, she'll sound like she's close to stalling, and if you hit the clutch she'll jump to about 1500 before settling at 1K again. Like I just CAN'T go below 1000.
I been dealing with other kinks I haven't dealt with this one yet, but all in all I know idling lower would help gas mileage.
I thought it might've been the gauge so I swapped clusters, no change in the tachometer at all. Anyone else dealt with this and got it remedied? I'll be checking the tach signal wire next, then of course the coil. Gotta grab the wiring diagram see if there's anything else I need to check.
Possible stuck idle air control? She fast idles fine, if you plug the IAC while fast idling it'll drop, but if you unplug it when the truck warm, no change.
