care to tell me how having two shifters but only one actually doing anything is practical?
if you really want a twin stick swap in a 205.
Man you must not read. AT ALL! I have switches they use to actuate air line to get split rearend to go from low to high. There electrical switches. I want to mount them on the sticks so I can lock in lockers I have planned for the front and rear end. Also the NP203 has the LOC funtion which I think may be a little useful in sled pulls.
DOES the stock lever do what it should? Like shift from high lock, to high, to N, to low, to low Lock? If so, why don't you just put some toggles on the dash for the lockers?
you are slow. do you understand what the lock is for, or why it has it? i'll give you a shiny penny if you can tell me why a 203 has it and a 205 doesn't.
The 203 basically has a open diff in it, the "lock" option locks the front and rear axle together
, Just like it would be in a regular gear driven Tcase. In the "high" or "low" mode it will supply power to the axle with the least traction.
exactly, well that wasn't as fun as i hoped for. it has a center differential in a 203 that allows for the front and rear to spin at different speeds, when you put it in lock it works just as any normal t-case would, not really any advantage for sled pulling. the twin stick for looks thing sounds like something someone would post in a honda forum. ghey.
So I had somewhat of an idea, thank you for explaining that, so its kind of on the idea of a LSD in the T-Case? But it makes no sense cause its a all time 4WD model. But then again it takes me a day sometimes to fully understand a concept, thanks Dave.
And thats what you get for assuming I am some dumba$$ kid. I take my time and learn what I can. I may not know it all but I try to learn what I can. Thank you guys for explaining it to me, much appreciated.
Ya its fulltime 4x4, as in, on surfaces with equal traction, power is divided between the front and rear axle evenly. , but as you turn, the front and rear axle fallow a different path, as in the front and rear axle are rotating at a slightly different speed. If it didn't have the "diff" in the tcase, it would bind up on turns. Pop it into high lock and make a sharp turn at slow speed, and you will see what I mean. The rig will bind, and will "hop" as you turn. The Lock mode is just when "maximum" traction is needed, as in truck pulls, mud, and any low traction situation.
Okay cool, thanks, one last question I can feel it click in and out of high and low just between regular and lock its really easy, should that happen? Also mine was converted with lock in and out hubs on the front.
