I'm betting you need to lift the RV up 4" to be level. (while maintaining at least 6" clearance from the top of the bed rail to the bottom of the RV overhang.)

Maybe for a very small load but I would not trust that with any real weight.

I really need your help. I am purchasing the same camper and have a 6 inch lift with 37 inch tires. Do you know the total height of your camper with the AC after you lifted it. Where I live the legal height is 13'6 .. I also have people telling me I don't need to lift it .. i diagreee, I think it will ride really Nora high and not have enough rail clearance. My rail height on my truck is 64 inches. Any idea what yours is? Any suggestions ? Would you recommend doing this? I am planning of pulling the trigger Friday!! Please get back to me . Your pic is the only reason I signed up for this forum lol. Please no one else comment not to lift a camper ! Lol I'm aware of all the myths ..

Bed heigth on a 2012 f550 super duty

You need to be concerned about the clearance factor of the bed and tailgate as well. So a if you did something like a 2 1/2 inch leveling in the front and a 1" in the rear I think you would be ok.

The king pin wt is gonna be pretty signifcant so that is gonna set the truck down a few inches in the rear.

I would suggest doing some measurements of the proposed toy hauler now and compare that to your truck ht.

According to the cert label on the door pillar, what is your axle ratings?

What should the bed heigth be on a f550 super duty 2012 for a 5th wheel hitch

is your camper under 13'6ft?? Please get back to be as soon as you can. Purchasing the same camper and I also have a 6" lift. Thanks!

I want to hook to a fifth wheel, 28ft Keystone Outback Sydney to the truck. IS THIS TRUCK TO HIGH to hook a fifth wheel to it? The truck is straight factory, no additional lifts or add on's.
Thanks for any help and/advice you can give.

We just transitioned from bumper pull to a 5th wheel, the same one you mentioned. I was pulling it with a '08 F250 4X4 King Ranch, stock height with the 20" tires. It sat quite high and barely squatted when the 5er was attached. Anyway, with the hitch adjusted to give 6" of clearance at the bed rails the 5er was nose high maybe 3". I never bothered with lifting the 5er because we were looking for a new truck. Now have a 2011 F250 2WD which is considerably lower than the '08.

What if someone said to you; "How would you like to improve the fuel economy, performance, handling, and safety of your truck". You would jump at it right.

Just remove any lift that you have installed. I know you don't have one yet. But, just making a point.

When we got our 5th, our stock 4x4 F350 bed rails were 1 inch above hitting the 5th wheel. Absolutely no clearance. We relocated the 5th axles from above the springs to below the springs and gained 5"of trailer height. As a side effect the bottom steps were now not just 1 inch off the ground, and were evenly spaced with the other steps and the ground. Don't just spin the axels 180* after relocating them, weld on new spring seats perfectly opposite of the old ones on the axle or you'll blow thru the inside tread of your tires and have alignment issues.

Sorry Guys, I haven't been on in a while. Lifting a camper SAFELY is easy, but yes you need to know the height before you start.

My 5th wheel in the above post was as stable lifted as it was factory.
