Going to build my truck this week. Don't have a 5th wheel but thinking it might be good to get the 5th wheel prep just in case and for resale. I looked at some trucks at the dealer and they all had the gooseneck hitch too so the holes in the bed were not covered.
If I get only 5th wheel prep will there be caps on the holes? Anybody have just that and can take a picture to show me what the bed will look like?
To answer the OP, yes there are plastic plugs that insert into the "pucks". I've got a rubber mat over top of the bed floor so I can't view it without rolling it all back. But if I remember correctly, the plugs insert into pucks, but there will still be a small gap all around the pucks and the bed floor itself.
I bought my truck off the lot. But I think the prep package is relatively inexpensive and will save you headaches if you eventually decide to use it and would be a plus at trade in time. Now that I have it and have used it, I would definitely be looking for it on a used truck if I were ever to shop used.
Thanks all. Yeah I'm going to go ahead and get it. Plan on Line-X but was also thinking of a bed mat so all will be good. Like I said we don't plan on a 5th wheel but who knows what we will want down the road.
